Quick and Easy After-Care

This video show you how to do a quick and easy nail after-care.

When you've done a new set of gel (or acrylic) nails, you're nails, cuticles and hands had to suffer quite a lot. A simple after-care is enough to give your nails and hands just what they need after a new set of nails.

Again, sorry for the zooming :).

Glam Leopard Gelnails

FINALLY, here it is.
My new gelnail tutorial called: Glam Leopard.

Here's the video:

And here are the steps:

1. prep
Push back your cuticles and remove the dead tissue with your cuticlescraper. File (240grid) your nail in the shape you prefer and buff on top of the nail with a whiteblock. Then apply your prep, let it dry, and apply your primer around your cuticle area.
Now apply your form (you can also do this before you apply your prep and primer).

Forms

2. Apply gel
Apply one thin coat of clear gel, clean up with your woodstick and cure for 2 minutes.

3. Natural pink gel
Now it's time to apply your natural pink gel. Build it nicely on your natural nail only and make sure you create a nice natural curve. Let the gel level for a couple of seconds, clean up around your cuticle area with a woodstick and cure for 2 minutes.

Natural pink gel

4. Build nail length
Now build your desired nail length with your clear gel. Make sure it fits right onto your natural nail.

5. Cure and pinch
Now cure your nails in the uvlight for 30 seconds and then remove it from the light. Now it's time to pinch the nail. Hold it for about 5-10 seconds and repeat this step (cure 30sec - pinch 10sec) for 2 to 3 times and then cure for another minute.

Pinching tool

6. Remove form and file
Remove the tacky layer and then remove the form (I'm using my pinchingtool). Start filing the nails and make sure you're pleased with the way they look. I allways use my dustcollector so my workarea stays   dustfree and I won't breathe in too much dust.

7. Apply glitter
Now it's time to apply your glitter. First apply some clear gel where you want your glitter to be (this doesn't have to be precise). Then tap on the glitter with a brush and let it fade out towards your cuticles. Then cure for 1 minute.

Silver Glitter

8. Apply clear gel
Apply the last coat of clear gel and make sure no glitter sticks out on the surface of the nail. Clean up with your woodstick and cure for 2 minutes.

9. File
Remove the tacky layer and file the nails. Make sure there aren't any bumps or ridges. I'm using an old 180grid and a 240grid file. When you're done filing remove the dust with your dustbrush and cleanser.

10. Acrylic paint
Mix your acrylic paint in the color you want. I'm using grey (mixed with black and white) and black paint. Apply the leopard print with a dotting tool. Let this dry!!!!! If the paint isn't completely dry and you apply your topcoat the whole design will be wiped out.

Dottingtools

11. Rhinestones
(This step is not in the video)
Apply your diamondstones with a drop of nailart-glue and let it dry. I chose silver and black ones.

12.  Topcoat
(This step is not in the video)
Now apply your uv-topcoat. Apply it as a polish and let it cure in the uvlight (mine needs to be cured for 1 minute).

AND YOU'RE DONE!

I hope you liked this tutorial and you will try it yourself.

How to fix a broken gelnail + infill

Today I'll show you how to fix a broken nail and do an infill while you're fixing it.

The right side of my gelnail on my indexfinger was broken off (with tip) so I had to repair it and thought this would make a nice tutorial :).

So here's the video:

And here are the steps:

1. Start off clean
Desinfect your tools before you use them with alcohol or something else. And ofcourse desinfect your own nails with a sanitizing gel.

2. File
Start filing off your color gel. I'm using and old 180grid file and a 240grid file. Remove your dust everytime your done filing, and make sure you have a special cloth or something for filing, so the dust won't get in to your gel.

old 180grid and a 240grid file

3. Prep your nail for gel
Apply your form. I'll do a tutorial on this later. The video show you how to apply it. Make sure the shape of it matches the shape you want your nail to be. Then take your prep. Drain the excess liquid and apply it on to your nail. Let this dry for a second, and then take your primer. Again drain the excess liquid and apply the primer around your cuticle area.

4. Apply your gel
Take your clear gel (or any color you prefer really) and build the shape of your nail where it's broken. I'm using a 1fase gel. Clean up around the cuticle area with your woodstick and cure. After 30 seconds remove your finger from the lamp and pinch for 10 seconds. Repeat this step for 3 times and then stay in the lamp for another minute. When it's completely cured, remove the form from your finger.

My gelbrush (one of them)

5. File
Remove any ridges and file a nice shape.

6. Build the nail
Now build the nail with a blush gel pink. Make sure the natural curve of the nail is nice. Clean up around the cuticle area with your woodstick and cure for 2/3 minutes.

7. Last time filing
And now make sure you don't see anything you don't like. Remove any ridges, make sure your shape is nice, and buff the nail with your whiteblock.

My pink "white"block

8. Final gel coat
Apply one final coat of clear gel, nice and thin and clean up around cuticle area and cure for 2 minutes.

9. Color gel
Now your nail is finished, you can apply the, in my case, pink color gel. Apply a sealing topcoat and you're done!

I hope this was helpfull.

Simple Manicure Tutorial

Here's, as promised, my simple manicure tutorial WITH VID!
I did this manicure on a good friend of mine. (I'm sorry for the crappy quality)

Here are the simple steps, again:

1. desinfect and cuticles
desinfect both of your hands. Push back the cuticles with a cuticlepusher, and scrape away the dead tissue with a cuticlescraper and the backside of your cuticlepusher, Again remeber to keep your tool nice and flat so you won't put too much pressure on the nail and you won't hurt your client. Also be carefull with your scraper, It's a sharp tool and you don't want to remove layers of the natural nail.

cuticlepusher and cuticlescraper

2. trim cuticles
You can do this with a trimmer, but I chose to do it with my scraper, as it is a very sharp tool and I won't have to worry I trim too much (plus I can work very precise with this tool). Gently scrape away the excess cuticle, don't trim too much! Your cuticles are there for blocking bacteria!!!

sharp blades on the cuticlescraper

3. clean and file
Clean up the nails with nailcleaner en start filing. I'm using a glass file and a 240grid file. Allways file one direction only when you're filing on natural nails. When you're done filing, buff the nail with your whiteblock.

glass file and 240grid file

whiteblock

4. remove dust
Remove the dust with a brush and cleanser.

5. apply basecoat
Apply a strengthning basecoat to harden and protect the nails. These basecoats tend to dry pretty fast. But make sure the nails are completely dry before you begin with the next step.

6. Creme and oil
Apply some nutricious handcreme and cuticle oil and massage it in. I'm using a pipette to apply my cuticle oil, because it's hygienic. I believe that using the same brush from the oil on every client can transfer bacteria from the one client to the other. I keep the brush for myself :).

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
